Zhasulan Abdolda won the bout of the quarter-finals at the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships
Aktobe is the host of the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships which turned into its quarter-final phase. Altogether 56 bouts were in the schedule of the fourth session in Aktobe where world class boxing was delivered by the future hopes of the country. Zhasulan Abdolda won the bout of the day in the quarter-finals while Temirlan Kemerkhan eliminated one of the favourites.
All of the fourteen categories from the pre-pinweight (44kg) to the heavyweight (+80kg) were in action in the fourth competition day at the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships. The winners advanced to the semi-finals and all of them are guaranteed medallists in the city of Aktobe which is located in the Western part of Kazakhstan.
Boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006 are eligible to attend in the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships. The national event is a preparation before the main international competitions of the year. The head coach of the Kazakh junior national team, former Olympian boxer Mr. Arkadiy Topayev has been following all of the contests since the first session of the event.
Temirlan Kemerkhan eliminated the main favourite of the 44kg category
Karagandy region’s Temirlan Kemerkhan and his opponent, Pavel Tokarev both were born in 2006 and spends their first year among the junior boxers. Tokarev was quarter-finalist at the Kuwait City 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships and earned gold at the Kazakhstan Schoolboys National Championships. Tokarev was the favourite of their contest but Kemerkhan exceeded the previous expectations and eliminated his top rival in the quarter-finals of the 44kg weight category.
Karagandy region’s Damir Baipakov is semi-finalist at the pinweight (46kg)
Another Karagandy region’s boxer, Damir Baipakov also impressed in the quarter-finals stage of the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships. He claimed bronze medal at the Kuwait City 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships and moved up to the pinweight (46kg). Baipakov was too strong for Almaty region’s Alibi Aydarkhan and advanced to the last four of the weight category. Three younger boxers from the 2006 age group such as Saken Ermek, Daniyar Keneskhanov and Zhandarbek Izbasarov also joined to the semi-finals.
ASBC medallist Bakhtiyar Anarbayev joined to the semi-finals of the featherweight (57kg) in Aktobe
Turkestan region’s Bakhtiyar Anarbayev impressed as a schoolboy boxer in 2019 when he won the Schoolboys National Championships and achieved bronze medal at the Kuwait City ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships. He will be turning to 16 this year but he is one of the most experienced boxers in the junior level. Anarbayev controlled all of the exchanges against Karagandy region’s Sagynysh Zhuldyzkhanuly in the quarter-finals of the featherweight (57kg) and will now meet in the last four with Almaty region’s Nurbol Khametov who eliminated Adil Abitbekuly of Dzhambul region.
Zhasulan Abdolda won the bout of the day
Almaty region’s Zhasulan Abdolda and Dzhambul region’s Aidos Matayev both competed as member of the Kazakh team at the Kuwait City 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships. Abdolda earned bronze medal in the continental event one and half year ago and proved strong developments on his return to a big event. Both boxers moved up to the light welterweight (63kg) and gave in everything to their important quarter-final contest. Abdolda was fresh enough in the final minute and won their key bout by split decision which means he can continue against Denis Kucher in the last four.
Batyrkhan Seitenov impressed in the quarter-finals of the middleweight (75kg)
Akmola region’s Batyrkhan Seitenov was Kazakhstan’s star at the Kuwait City 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships where he defeated all of his rivals at the 67kg weight category. The 15-year-old boxer moved up to the middleweight (75kg) and arrived to Aktobe as one of the most experienced Kazakh talents with more than 120 contests during his career. Seitenov demonstrated his strength once again and bowed out Nur-Sultan’s Ibragim Betayev in the quarter-finals.
