Zakirov smashed his next opponent in Budva

Kyrgyzstan’s Mukhammadaziz Zakirov destroyed his next opponent on the sixth competition day at the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva, Montenegro today.

Afghanistan, China, DPR Korea, Hong Kong, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Palestine, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are the participating 13 Asian nations in the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships.

Altogether 73 nations and 593 boxers are participating in the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva which makes the event the biggest competition of the globe this year.

Uzbekistan’s Raykhona Kurbonboyeva was too experienced for Morocco’s Khadija Bargach in their women’s welterweight (66kg) contest which opened the entire competition day. The Moroccan was able to keep similar rhythm as the Uzbek until the second round but Kurbonboyeva’s finish overmatched the North African.

Uzbekistan’s Samandar Olimov had excellent footwork in the first round against Bulgaria’s Angel Dimitrov and he was also a hard target for his opponent due to his wonderful body defensive skills. The Asian Junior Champion Uzbek ruled the middle of the ring, his hands were down but landed his punches with perfect timing to win this featherweight (57kg) bout.

Kazakhstan’s Zhanseri Kosherbayev defeated his previous opponents with smart boxing but today he used his strength to make the decisions against Tajikistan’s Shodmekhr Davlatov at the featherweight (57kg). Turkmenistan’s last remaining hope, Ysmayyl Gurbanberdiyev had a tight success over Albania’s Bujar Hekuri using his range better and he will now meet for the medal the strong Kazakh.  

Tajikistan’s Youth National Champion Bakhrombek Khatamov followed the well-built strategy against Mexico’s Rodrigo Marin and he secured his place in the quarter-finals of the men’s light middleweight (71kg). Another strong Central Asian, Mukhammadazizbek Ismoilov of Uzbekistan stopped his Colombian rival quickly and he will be meeting with the Tajik in the day of the quarter-finals.

Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion at the light middleweight (71kg), Oner Seilkhan not only used is longer hands against Pakistan’s historic winner in the last round Shahzad Muhammad Ali but he attacked continuously. He had the punctual jabs in all of the three rounds and the 18-year-old Kazakh eliminated his Pakistani opponent with world-class performance.

Kyrgyzstan’s ASBC medallist Mukhammadaziz Zakirov is one of the strongest punchers at the men’s light heavyweight (80kg) and he eliminated his next rival with a fast success. The 18-year-old Kyrgyz landed his lethal body shots in the first round and knocked down Moldova’s Pavel Zadorojniuc.

China’s Wang Miqi has experience only from her national events but she was able to follow the strategy well enough to beat Croatia’s European medallist Lana Paljusic at the women’s featherweight (57kg). Kazakhstan’s Uldana Taubay is a top women’s welterweight (66kg) boxer but she had to do her very best to beat Turkey’s Zeliha Ozdemir.

China’s Xinjiang-based Dina Shanatibieke won an important tournament in Kazakhstan, the Belt & Road Tournament in Urumqi and she is an ASBC medallist as well. The Chinese welterweight (66kg) boxer was taller, stronger and more focused than Venezuela’s Lauren Acosta therefore she won the bout by RSC.

Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion Nodirbek Allaberganov eliminated one of his main rivals from Kazakhstan in the previous round which increased his confidence. The 18-year-old Uzbek maintained the best fighting distance against Trinidad & Tobago’s Darnell Sinaswee in the first round and he finished the job in the second. Uzbekistan’s Khalimjon Mamasoliyev, the defending ASBC Asian Youth Champion at the heavyweight (92kg), met a very tough opponent in the Round of 16, Armenia’s Davit Simonyan. The Uzbek boxer increased the tempo minutes by minutes and he landed multiple punches without any stoppage to beat the Armenian today.
