Vietnam’s young ladies were amazing in the ASEAN Youth Championships on Day2

The second competition day was held in the ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships in Saraburi, Thailand where today’s winners are guaranteed medallists. Vietnam’s female talents shined in the second competition day while Thailand’s top men youth boxers also delivered sensational performances in Saraburi.
Among the Southeast Asian nations Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam are taking part in the competition in Saraburi. Women boxers can take part in the ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships in four weight classes: 51kg, 57kg, 60kg and 75kg. The men talents have got six weight classes in the ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships: 49kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 64kg and 69kg. Boxers who were born in 1999 and in 2000 are eligible to compete in the ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships.
Vietnam’s National Championships bronze medallist Do Hong Ngoc moved up to the lightweight (60kg) and became the first boxer in the ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships who could beat a host nation’s boxer. The 18-year-old Vietnamese lady was able to beat Thailand’s Peedakamon Tintabthai who also competed in several other competitions in the recent two years. Do’s teammate Nguyen Thi Loan also proved top performance in the same weight class and defeated Thailand’s Chalisa Mora in the second bout of the day.
Thailand’s Thanchanok Saksri moved up to the middleweight (75kg) in the recent months and her decision was great after her performance in the second competition day. Saksri used her strength to keep the best fighting distance against Vietnam’s Tran Thi Giang and advanced to the final of the category. Her next opponent for the title will be Vietnam’s Youth National Champion Hoang Ngoc Mai on Sunday.
Vietnam’s National Cup bronze medallist Vo Xuan Hai is one of the best man youth boxer of his country who had to meet against a tough rival in Saraburi. The 18-year-old Vietnamese flyweight (52kg) boxer was quicker and his punches were more effective than Indonesia’s Gelvin Rahmadani Masara and advanced to the last four in the championships.
Thailand’s ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships bronze medallist Pluem Wangkhlaklang is member of the national team since 2014 therefore he had more than enough experiences to advance to the semi-final of the 1st ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships. One of the best Thai youth boxer was able to beat Malaysia’s Amirul Hakim Bin Sakila in the bantamweight (56kg) on Day2.
Thailand’s Anan Thonkrathok competed at the 2015 AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships and also in the 2016 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships but he had a few difficulties against Laos’ newcomer Koung in their light welterweight (64kg) bout. The 17-year-old Thai boxer turned up the heat and finally his hand was raised after the final gong.
Thailand’s Thanayut Faphimai competed at the 2016 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan and at the 2016 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships in St. Petersburg, Russia. Since then he moved up to the welterweight (69kg) and started well enough in the ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships where he was too smart for Indonesia’s Alfino Caisar Nanlohy.
