Uzbekistan has got dozen finalists at the ASBC Asian Confederation Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City

The 28 exciting semi-final bouts were held in the fourth competition day at the ASBC Asian Confederation Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City. Uzbekistan has got impressive dozen finalists in the event but India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Philippines also remained their chances alive to win gold medals in Kuwait City.
ASBC President and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Anas Alotaiba followed the bouts in the fourth day of the event in Kuwait City together with ASBC Vice President Mr. Yousuf Ali Al-Kazim and President of the Kuwait Boxing Federation Mr. Mohammed Mensi Al-Enezi. Altogether 150 boxers from 21 nations are competing for the medals and titles in Kuwait City’s Shaikh Al-Abdullah Sports Complex.
The ASBC Asian Schoolboys Confederation Boxing Championships is a new milestone in our continent and it is holding at the first time. Boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006 are eligible to compete in the event for the 14 available titles.

India’s Aryan is the first finalist at the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships
India’s Aryan eliminated Philippines’ Joshua Sorillo in a tough quarter-final in the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships. The 14-year-old Indian had another top opponent in the semi-finals, Kazakhstan’s Damir Baipakov but from the first seconds he was able to control the bout. The Indian talent overcome his Central Asian opponent in the attacks and he was able to manage his success in the semi-finals. Aryan will be meeting for the title with Uzbekistan’s Hojiakbar Mahmudov who controlled his fight against Tajikistan’s Ruslan Gafurov in Kuwait City.

Turkmenistan’s Dovlet Nurmuradov is a surprise finalist at the 43kg weight class
Turkmenistan sent small teams to the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships but three of their boxers advanced to the semi-finals in Kuwait City. Dovlet Nurmuradov, who had tough road to the semi-finals, had difficulties in the first round against Afghanistan’s Schoolboys National Champion Masiullah Shirzai who eliminated Jordan’s Abdel Hakeem Jarabat on Day3. Nurmuradov received strong advices from coach Tenlebek Jumakulov and turned back their close semi-final fight. Turkmenistan’s new surprise will be facing for the gold medal with Uzbekistan’s two-time Schoolboys National Champion Umidillo Abdurasulov who bowed out Kazakhstan’s Bakhtiyar Anarbayev in a superb bout.

Uzbekistan’s Lazizbek Tulkinov and India’s Vinay Vishwakarma are the finalists at the 49kg weight class
Kazakhstan’s Sultan Moldash eliminated Kyrgyzstan’s Islam Imanidinov and Kuwait’s Mohammed Al-Enezi during his road to the semi-finals of the 49kg weight class. The Kazakh boxer tried to use his quick attacks against Uzbekistan’s Lazizbek Tulkinov but he did not catch his neighbouring opponent in the first round. The Uzbek boxer was a hard target and he looked strongly focused in their contest which supported his success in the semi-finals. Tulkinov will have another tough opponent in the final of the event as India’s Vinay Vishwakarma stopped Jordan’s last hope Zaid Nedal Bers in the second semi-final.

India vs. Uzbekistan in the final at the 55kg weight category
India’s Preet Malik has got previous connections to boxing and following his Sub-Junior National title he impressed in the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City. The Indian 55kg boxer landed more punches in the first round than Kazakhstan’s Zhassulan Abdolda but Central Asian opponent has done great finish in the end of the opening period. Malik was confident in the second and third rounds and bowed out such strong opponents as Abdolda in Kuwait City. The Indian hope will be meeting for the gold medal with Uzbekistan’s Zirve Children Games gold medallist Jakhongir Narziev who dominated his fight against Iran’s Alireza Baratalipour Farkhani.

Kazakhstan’s first finalist is Viktor Litvinov at the 61kg weight class
Uzbekistan’s Mizrob Nekboyev claimed only silver medal in their Schoolboys National Championships but he is already a finalist in Kuwait City. The Uzbek boxer used his height advantage against Kyrgyzstan’s Bayel Samidin Uulu who began boxing only two years ago. The Kyrgyz boxer was unable to reduce the fighting distance and Nekboyev’s longer hands controlled their contest. The Uzbek talent advanced to the final where his last opponent will be Kazakhstan’s Viktor Litvinov who worked well against Iraq’s last remained boxer Ahmed Ali Qasim in the second semi-final.

A world class fight was won by Kazakhstan’s Seitenov at the 67kg
Kazakhstan’s Batyrkhan Seitenov started the first round against India’s Beniwal Naksh in different rhythm and landed powerful punches in the opening when the referee counted his opponent. Seitenov was near to finish their contest still in the first round but the Indian survived the most dangerous moments. The Indian worked better in the second and returned with good jabs in the third but Seitenov’s hand was raised after the last gong. Following the well-deserved Kazakh success Uzbekistan’s Shakhboz Khamidullaev won all of the rounds against Kuwait’s brave Abdulaziz Al-Sarheed.

India’s Randeep defeated the first Uzbek in Kuwait City
Uzbekistan’s Khusanboy Rikhsiboev walked over to the semi-finals of the heavyweight (+70kg) therefore he looked fresh in the first round against India’s Randeep. His opponent was much better in the second therefore the final verdict was depended on their performance in the last round. The judges had hard job to pick the winner of these narrow fight but Randeep became finally the first who could eliminate an Uzbek boxer in Kuwait City. The Indian will be meeting in the final with Kazakhstan’s Yerdos Sharipbek who knocked out Turkmenistan’s Bogdan Konstantinov.

Uzbekistan vs. Kyrgyzstan in the final of the 35kg
Uzbekistan’s Khumoyunmirzo Abdurasulov defeated Kazakhstan’s Pavel Tokarev in the quarter-finals and met in the last four with Turkmenistan’s Daniyar Rozmetov who arrived to Kuwait City in top shape. The Uzbek boxer was slightly better in their semi-final and advanced to the next and final stage of the championship. Abdurasulov will be meeting for the title with Kyrgyzstan’s Bekzat Ergeshov who had a tough semi-final against Philippines’ Robert Malunoc Jr.

Turkmenistan’s lone finalist in Kuwait City is Alisher Orazbayev
Turkmenistan’s most experienced boxer Alisher Orazbayev spent less than one minute in the ring in the quarter-finals and the southpaw started his semi-final better than Afghanistan’s Mohammad Younus Amiri. The 14-year-old boxer from Turkmenistan controlled the first round against his smaller Afghan rival and took the lead on each scorecard. The one-year younger Amiri tried to use his aggressive style but Orazbayev’s skills were too much for the Afghan talent today. Turkmenistan’s No.1 will be meeting for the title with Uzbekistan’s youngest team member Farrukh Tulaganov who eliminated Kazakhstan’s Amir Seiilkhan.

Philippines’ Raymond Lofranco turned back his semi-final at the 46kg weight class
As the last remained boxer from his country Phisit Paochanthuek is Thailand’s high future hope who trains in the Nakhon Ratchasima boxing school and the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships is his first ever international event. The young hope, who celebrated his 14th birthday on June, eliminated Tajikistan’s tall Amirkhon Rustamov and started strongly against Philippines’ No.1 Raymond Lofranco. The Filipino boxer come back to the bout in the second round and surprisingly he was able to turn back that fight. Lofranco will be boxing for the gold medal with Uzbekistan’s Boburbek Bobojonov who bowed out Kazakhstan’s Darkhan Nurzhigit.

Kyrgyzstan’s second finalist is Amangeldi Maksutov
Kyrgyzstan’s Schoolboy National Champion Amangeldi Maksutov was highly confident against United Arab Emirates’ Khaled Al-Khurdi in the semi-finals of the 52kg category. The UAE boxer has done his nation’s first victory in the Asian continental events since 2013 in the quarter-finals but in the last four he was not able to catch his Kyrgyz opponent. Maksutov was more experienced and won their semi-final unanimously in Kuwait City becoming Kyrgyzstan’s second finalist in the event. In the second semi-final of the category Uzbekistan’s two-time Schoolboy National Champion Dalerjon Bozorov made the show against Tajikistan’s Shakhboz Dadajonov.

Abdurakhmonov and Singh both controlled their semi-finals at the 58kg
Uzbekistan’s Abdulaziz Abdurakhmonov did not deliver his best performance in the semi-finals of the 58kg weight class but he was able to eliminate Kyrgyzstan’s Beksultan Kimsanov in Kuwait City. The Uzbek was effective in their hectic contest and secured his place in the final which is his third one in 2019. In the second semi-final of this division India’s Yashwardhan Singh dominated all of the three rounds against Palestine’s new sensation Zaid Mohammad Atef Shkokani who trains in the Elbarrio Boxing Club in the city of Ramallah with coach Mr. Nader Jayousi and claimed finally bronze in Kuwait City.

Boltayev and Yersultanov boxed the bout of the day
Uzbekistan’s Shavkatjon Boltayev and Kazakhstan’s Zhandos Yersultanov started the first round of their semi-finals in excellent rhythm. Both boxers landed clear punches in the opening round and these young hopes were able to keep their strong business in the same level until the end of the final gong. The 14-year-old Uzbek was slightly better in their exchanges and won the bout of the day which means he will be facing for the gold medal with India’s Gaurav Saini in Kuwait City.

India’s Joon Bharat has done a small surprise at the 70kg
India’s Joon Bharat delivered a small surprise in the semi-finals of the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships when he was able to eliminate the second Uzbek in the fourth day of boxing. Aynazar Kenesbayev was the favourite of their contest but the smaller Indian kept the Uzbek boxer under pressure and won the bout by split decision. The tough Indian will be meeting in the final against a similar style boxer Kyrgyzstan’s Atay Asanbekov who eliminated Iran’s last hope Alireza Shabgarnia.
