The Uzbek Tigers overwhelmed Azerbaijan Baku Fires in the World Series of Boxing

The Uzbek Tigers defeated Puerto Rico Hurricanes twice the titleholder of the World Series of Boxing Astana Arlans Kazakhstan in the previous rounds of the Group D. The Uzbek Tigers did revenge against Azerbaijan Baku Fires in their today’s match which was the repeat of their first one. The Uzbeks lost to Azerbaijan Baku Fires 3-2 in their away match few weeks ago but the Central Asian franchise was amazing in the front of the home crowd and won all of their five bouts in Tashkent.
Nodirjon Mirzakhmedov replaced Uzbekistan’s current ASBC Asian Champion Hasanboy Dusmatov in the franchise and proved he is almost in the same level as his star compatriot. The 22-year-old Light Flyweight class (49 kg) boxer proved even better performance against Azerbaijan Baku Fires’ Rasul Saliev every rounds and finally he could dominate his bout from the middle of the contest.
Following Mirzakhmedov’s clear success in the front of the local crowd National Champion 19-year-old Abdulkhay Sharakhmatov delivered another strong performance in the day and his great right-handed jabs against Yarash Magomedov was enough for another unanimous decision to the Uzbek Tigers which took 2-0 lead after two bouts.
Another Uzbek top talent defending National Champion 19-year-old Fazliddin Meliboev had to do his very best to beat Azerbaijan Baku Fires’ Zaur Abdullayev who competed for Russia as a youth boxer previously. Abdullayev began the contest better but Meliboev raised the rhythm still in time and he could turn back their highest level of bout. After three bouts it was secured the Uzbek Tigers defeated Azerbaijan Baku Fires in Tashkent.
Uzbekistan’s Middleweight class (75 kg) boxer Ulugbek Khakberdiev robbed into the world of boxing in 2013 and since then he developed well. The 23-year-old strong hope won his opening WSB contest on Week 2 while he proved different level of boxing once again. His opponent was Levani Lukhutashvili who was not enough competitive for Khakberdiev who could knock out his rival in the third round.
Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games silver medallist Sardorbek Begaliev made his WSB debut this night against such an experienced boxer as Azerbaijan Baku Fires’ Haji Murtuzaliyev. The Uzbek Heavyweight class (91 kg) athlete began the bout with controlled boxing against his 28-year-old rival who returned to the match in the middle part of the bout but Begaliev could control the last round which delivered the fifth success for the Uzbek Tigers in Tashkent.
