Twenty-four boxers earned titles at the Kyrgyzstan Junior National Championships
The Kyrgyzstan Junior National Championships was held in the city of Tokmak where nine girls and fifteen boys earned their gold medals.
Altogether 38 girls and 239 boys competed in the new edition of the Kyrgyzstan Junior National Championships. The number of the boxers exceeded 16 in eight of the weight classes therefore Round of 32 preliminary battles were hold at the 42kg, 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 53kg, 54kg, 57kg and 60kg in Tokmak.
The 2008 and 2009 born boxers were eligible to participate in the Kyrgyzstan Junior National Championships. The event was the first selection before the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships which will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from August 21.
Chui region’s Zhasmina Bayteliyeva won the Schoolgirls Nationals in 2023 and she was able to take her first junior title after beating Aysezim Usenbayeva by split decision at the female pinweight (46kg). Dzhalal-Abad region’s Akmaral Amantayeva, another Kyrgyz Schoolgirl National Champion from 2023, also opened her campaign among the juniors with a gold.
Naryn region’s Adinay Kaparova claimed a silver at the recent Kyrgyz Junior Nationals in 2023 which she switched into gold medal this time after her success over another promising talent, Sedep Bekmurzayeva. Bermet Omurbakiyeva (52kg), Asema Ryskulova (54kg) and Eliza Maksatova (60kg) are also impressed in the female part of the Nationals.
Khudayberdi Abidzhanov, Nursultan Duyshonaliyev, Zubair Akramov and Dmitriy Ropa all claimed gold medals in the 2023 Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys National Championships. The quartet joined the junior age group only this January but all of them won their weight classes with impressive performance.
Umar Orusbayev moved from the 42kg up to the light flyweight (48kg) in the recent one year and he claimed his second Kyrgyz junior national title stopping most of his opponents including Kanatbek Ismanov in the final. Bishkek’s Danil Budavkin was not the main favourite at the light bantamweight (52kg) but he defeated Mukhamedamin Sodikov in a tight final bout.
Abdulkhak Sadikov, Kutmanbiy Muratov and Izat Kamchybekov all won narrow final bouts in this Junior National Championship. Mukhammad Abdumanapov moved up to the light welterweight (63kg) and he switched his last year’s silver into a gold medal in Tokmak. Akhmadi Arvaza was one of the best Kyrgyz junior boxers in 2023 and he proved his very best at the welterweight (66kg) once again. Islambek Gulamiddinov won all of his three national contests in the last edition one year ago and he defended his throne at the heavyweight (+80kg) but he had harder job this time. The 16-year-old Osh-based boxer had a tough final against Bishkek’s Abay Ishenov but his last round was decisive.
