Turkmenistan’s medal favourites are ready to show their progress in Al Ain

Turkmenistan has technician young boxers and their best prides will be competing for the medals in the upcoming ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships which will open with its first competition day in Al Ain on August 29.

The upcoming ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships will be held in Al-Ain, United Arab Emirates between August 27 and September 10 which is the first top event after the Paris Olympics. Two age groups, two genders and Asia’s best 13, 14, 15 and 16-year-old talents will be competing for the 56 available gold medals in Al Ain.

Turkmenistan achieved its first ever gold medal at the level of the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Astana in 2023 and their Dayanch Durdynepesov is now member of their youth national team. The Central Asian boxing power earned more silver and bronze medals in Astana last November therefore their expectations are high in the next edition.

The management of the Turkmenistan Boxing Federation hosted its Junior National Championships in Ashgabat on July with the participation of 157 boxers and among them their coaches selected nine boxers to participate in Al Ain.

The Secretary General of the Turkmenistan Boxing Federation, Mr. Durdymammet Kuljayev, their experienced Mr. Annamyrat Sahedov, a former national boxer Mr. Timur Halilov, Mr. Sapardurdy Bagyyev, Mr. Myrat Pazzyyev and Mr. Yazmuhammet Pazzyyev will be their officials and coaches in the upcoming event.

Lebap’s Begench Kakamyradov was quarter-finalist at the 2023 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Astana and since then he moved up from the pinweight (46kg) up to the flyweight (50kg). The 16-year-old talent is one of their medal hopefuls in Al Ain where he has the chance to test himself against the top Uzbek, Kazakh, Indian and Ukrainian boxers.

Ashgabat’s Sapargeldi Nuryagdyyev came from a boxing family and he proved his strong genetics at the light middleweight (70kg) in the previous competitions. Muhammet Nazarov defeated the best opponents in the recent Junior National Championships and he is also a strong medal hope at the lightweight (60kg).

Hangeldi Lukmanov, Abdyrasul Arslanov, and Abdyrahman Rejepov are all spending their first year among the junior boxers but they can show their skills in Al Ain.

Turkmenistan achieved two silver and two bronze medals in the 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City and their five talents are aiming for the same strong results in Al Ain. Ahmet Myradov (33kg), Ysmail Mollayev (35kg), Sanjar Berdiyev (43kg), Merdan Madrakhimov (46kg) and Ezbermuhammet Myratdurdyyev (55kg) are their best schoolboys in the national team.
