Tuan Nasyafie Bin Tuan Ruzuki was the star in the Malaysian Youth & Junior National Championships
The Malaysian Youth & Junior National Championships was held in the city of Terengganu which hosted previous national events in the recent years. The new junior No.1 Muhammad Aminuddin Wan Aziz and top youth talent Tuan Nasyafie Bin Tuan Ruzuki could be their next future national team members.
The Malaysian Boxing Federation is planning to send boxers to the all ASBC events in 2017 therefore the competition was also a selection event. The junior boxers could compete in nine weight classes from the pinweight (46kg) up to the welterweight (66kg) in Terengganu which is located in the Eastern part of the Southeast Asian country.
The Best Junior Boxers Trophy was achieved by Muhammad Aminuddin Wan Aziz of Terengganu who competed at the bantamweight (54kg) in the event. The 16-year-old talent eliminated Muhammad Haizad Bin Johan in the semi-final and proved another top performance against Muhammad Haziq Nazri in the final of the category.
Seven among the nine junior finals delivered split decisions which show there was not so huge difference between the boxers who prepared well to the Malaysian Junior National Championships. The first junior title was achieved by Jackson Chambai Anak Ikeh who won his pinweight (46kg) final against Mohamed Syahran Hafie Mohamed Fauzie also by split decision as other winners.
Muhammad Resoinal Haikal Fadli delivered top performance in Terengganu where he dominated all of his fights at the flyweight (50kg) and claimed his second national title. Akmal Imran Hassan was also enough strong to dominate his junior welterweight (66kg) where he was too strong to Muhammad Iqbal Naim in the final.
Malaysia’s best youth boxers fought also in nine weight classes in the event from the light flyweight (49kg) up to the heavyweight (91kg) in Terengganu. The Best Youth Boxer Trophy was gone to Tuan Nasyafie Bin Tuan Ruzuki who attended at the flyweight (52kg) and dominated his three bouts including the final against Wan Muhammad Musa Abdullah.
Mohamad Bin Shahrin Shaari was able to win the gold medal of the light flyweight (49kg) which is traditionally strong in Malaysia. The 18-year-old boxer defeated Mohamed Aid Mushiq Hasban in the final of the event winning most of the rounds as the scoring of 10:8 which was a great demonstration from Mohamad Bin Shahrin Shaari. The winner was bronze medallist already in the 2014 Junior National Championships therefore his experiences were the difference against his opponents.
Amirul Hakim Bin Sakila arrived to Terengganu as one of the favourite of the bantamweight (56kg) and he proved currently he is too strong for his opponents in Malaysia. The 17-year-old boxer launched lethal combinations in the second round against Mohamed Aimi Hanafi Roby and the referee confirmed his RSC success in the final.
Muhammad Muhaimi Mahadi had three opponents in the Malaysian Youth National Champiosnhips and among them he defeated two before the final gong. He spent only two minutes in the ring in the final against Kuala Lumpur’s Muhammad Mahathir Hazizi and claimed his national title when the referee confirmed his RSC victory.
