The Uzbekistan Youth National Championships opened with 60 preliminary bouts in Dzhizak
The Uzbekistan Youth National Championships opened with 60 preliminary contests in the city of Dzhizak today which is their next busy competition.
Boxers who were born in 2006 and in 2007 are eligible to compete in the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships which is their first selection event before the main international objectives of the year.
The total number of boxers in the Youth National Championships is 297 in the city of Dzhizak where 13 champions will be crowned after the finals on January 25. The Uzbek organizers are using two rings in this Youth Nationals until the finals of the competition.
The light welterweight (63.5kg) is the most popular category in the Youth National Championships with the participation of 37 boxers. The local organizers had to arrange Round of 64 preliminary bouts in three weight categories as the featherweight (57kg), lightweight (60kg) and light welterweight (63.5kg) due to the high number of participating boxers.
All of the best boxing regions from the country such as Tashkent, Namangan, Andizhan, Bukhara, Samarkand, Ferghana, Dzhizak, Khorezm, Surkhondarya, Kashkadarya and the team of the city of Tashkent are among the participants in the Youth Nationals.
Namangan’s Mukhammadgiyos Sobutkhanov (51kg), Sobir Tastanov (54kg), Tashkent region’s Samandar Olimov (57kg), the local boy, Mironshokh Norkosimov (60kg), Jafarbek Shakhbozov (75kg), Bukhara’s Ruslan Esanov (75kg), Ferghana’s Ozodbek Aliyev (92kg), and Shakhzod Polvonov (+92kg) could be the stars of the new edition.
