The Uzbek women squad will be travelling for a joint training camp to China
The Uzbek women squad will be travelling for sparring and joint training camp to China where the Central Asians can raise their experiences in the home of the best Asian female boxing country. The best Uzbek ladies are now competing at the Bukhara International Women’s Elite Tournament in their homeland.
Uzbekistan proved amazing performance in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games where their boxers claimed three titles and four further medals in the August’s event and Yodgoroy Mirzaeva delivered a historical female quota for the country. The amazing result of their boxers delivered development in Uzbekistan also in women’s boxing. Uzbekistan’s women’s boxing life developed well in the recent years and since 2013 the number of their female elite and youth boxers is multiplied.
The 10-strong Uzbek women’s boxing squad contains their Rio 2016 Olympian Yodgoroy Mirzaeva who moved back to her previous lightweight (60kg) in the recent months. Their winners in the strong Chinggis Khan Cup, their 19-year-old future stars Tursunoy Rakhimova and Maftunakhon Melieva are also involved to the training camp. Most of the Uzbek women boxers in the training camp are under 20 and all have got great future in the sport.
