The UAE Open Boxing Championships supported the preparation of the young talents for Al Ain

The United Arab Emirates hosted their Open Boxing Championships in the previous days and four countries shared the gold medals in the event.

The UAE Open Boxing Championships was held for all of the age groups, the elites, youth, junior and schoolboys as well.

The United Arab Emirates arranged several competitions in the months of March and April within a short period of time and their management continued the progress in our sport.

The competition supported the preparation of the athletes for the upcoming ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships which will be held in Al Ain, UAE from August 27.

Several of the Board members of the United Arab Emirates Boxing Federation and important officials followed the bouts in the Open Boxing Championships.

The first gold medal was achieved by Khalifa Alswadi, who trains in the Cubano Boxing Centre, and he defeated Abdullah Naji in the final of the schoolboys 33kg which is the smallest weight class for the 13 and 14-year-old young talents.

The Black Wolf MMA & Fitness Center is located in Sharjah and their new schoolboy talent, Moaz Ahmed Ibrahim dominated the 35kg final against Matar Khalfan.

Bahrain has been preparing to the ISF Gymnasiade which will be held in their homeland in the end of October therefore the country sent boxers to the UAE Open Boxing Championships and among them Sawed Alswai succeeded at the schoolboys 43kg weight class.

Buti Musabah Aljabri was the next notable winner among the schoolboys while Zayed Alshebli’s strong boxing genetics paid off in the final of the schoolboys +70kg weight class in the Open Boxing Championships.

Twelve junior talents earned their gold medals in the next age group which was also a selection for them for the upcoming ASBC competition. Fujairah’s Ali Mesheel (52kg), Ammar Tayel (57kg), Hussain Issa (63kg), Hamad Saleem Alshamshi (75kg), Joud Alharrirri (80kg) and Obaid Sultan (+80kg) all made strong performance in the event.

Tajikistan also sent a boxer to the UAE Open Boxing Championships and their Abubakr Gafurov had the strength to beat a local boy, Abdullah Alshihi from Abu Dhabi at the youth welterweight (67kg).

Iraq earned one title in the competition, Mohammed Abed E-Hakeem defeated all of his rivals at the elite lightweight (60kg). Kuwait also competed in the UAE Open Boxing Championships and their Rashid Al-Mutairi won a bronze medal among the elite boxers.
