The Turkestan region topped the team standings with five gold medals at the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships
The Kazakhstan Junior National Championships was held in the city of Atyrau and the competition delivered the successes of several new stars.
The team from Turkestan region achieved five gold, two silver and five bronze medals and their record-breaking performance was enough to win the medal standings in Atyrau. The squad from Astana and the Dzhambul region ranked as second and third in the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships.
The 2009 and 2010 born boxers were eligible to participate in the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships in Atyrau which is the age group for the next year. The event supported the decision makers to select the best boxers in this age level before the start of the new year.
Atyrau is one of the boxing capitals in Kazakhstan and the city arranged several international and national competitions in the previous years on an annual basis.
Altogether 219 boxers competed in the junior national event after the regional selections and fourteen champions will be crowned in the city of Atyrau.
The men competitors were able to fight for the titles at the 44kg, 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, and the +80kg weight categories.
The first winner of the event was Arman Myrsabit from the Turkestan region, he walked over to the title against Almas Zhunis. Zhumagali Nurmakhan is a top boxer in the 2010 born talents and following his international successes, he continued the winning path for the Turkestan region at the pinweight (46kg).
Rustem Saparkhan won the third-in-a-row gold medal for the Turkestan region, the 14-year-old boxer defeated a talent from Shymkent, Nurgazy Askarbek at the light flyweight (48kg). Khalif Rasul, Temirali Temirbayev and Doszhan Zhumakhan earned the next gold medals with excellent performance in Atyrau.
Dzhambul region’s Islam Suleymanogly was also born in 2010 as Nurmakhan and Saparkhan, but his skills were enough to beat Altynbek Asetuly at the featherweight (57kg) final. Turkestan region’s fourth title was achieved by Anvar Idrisov at the lightweight (60kg), he had a 4:1 split decision success over Dinmukhammed Murat.
The welterweight (66kg) has strong traditions in Kazakhstan and their Daniyal Shalkarbay of Almaty performed well to beat Temirlan Yeraliyev in the final. Astana’s strong junior duo as Sanzhar Matashov (75kg) and the 14-year-old Sabyrzhan Sagym (+80kg) both won their categories against good rivals.
