The TD of the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament Mrs. Karina Picson introduced the rules and regulations during the Technical Meeting

The Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament opened with its Technical Meeting in Phuket today. The meeting was held in the Angsana Laguna Beach Hotel and contained all of the important information of the tournament.

Mrs. Karina Picson of the Philippines is the Technical Delegate of the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament in Phuket and led the Technical Meeting today. Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate is the Competition Director of the Thailand Open as in the recent years. Malaysia’s Mr. Wan Abdul Hamid works as Deputy Technical Delegate while India’s Mr. Lenny D’Gama is the Observer and Referee & Judge Evaluator in Phuket.

The Roll-call confirmed that Cambodia, Chinese Taipei, India, Italy, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, New Zealand, Palestine, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam are attending in the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament. Thailand will attend with two squads, their best A and B teams are competing in Phuket in the upcoming days.

The Angsana Convention Hall is the venue of the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament. Altogether 130 elite boxers are attending in the Thailand Open including 74 male and 56 female athletes in Phuket.

The information about the official draw, the competition schedule, the daily weigh-in, the coaches’ requirements, the coaches’ duties, equipment, the boxers’ uniforms, the Covid-19 protocols, the medal ceremonies and the IBA Disciplinary code all have been introduced during the Technical Meeting.

The individual gold medallists will earn 2000 USD, the silver medallists 1000 USD while the bronze medallists each 500 USD in the new edition of the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament. There are additional money prizes for the best boxer of the tournament and the best team of the competition.

The Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament will be a preparation event before the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships, Southeast Asian Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and EUBC European Elite Boxing Championships.

April 6, 13:00 & 16:00 – Day4 competition

April 7 – Rest Day

April 8, 13:00 – Day5 Semi-finals

April 9, 12:00 – Day6 Finals

April 9, 19:00 – Farewell Dinner

April 10 – Departure of the delegations
