The sensation of the day – China’s Alimire Abudureyimu eliminated the previously unbeaten Oysha Toirova

Two Chinese female boxers secured their spots in the finals of the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships in Astana following their surprises in the evening session.

China’s Xinjiang-based Dina Shanatibieke returned to Kazakhstan after two months and she used her longer hands to stop her Uzbek rival, Rukhshona Shakarova. The Chinese welterweight (66kg) boxer had the dominance in the second round therefore her coach Mr. Timur Akhbayev abandoned this semi-final bout. The Chinese No.1 is the first from her nation in Astana who marched to the finals where her last opponent will be Kazakhstan’s energetic Uldana Taubay.

Uzbekistan’s Oysha Toirova is one of the top stars in women’s youth boxing, the multiple Asian Champion had a tough semi-final against her technician opponent, Alimire Abudureyimu of China. The taller Chinese boxer had also brilliant technical skills and she surprised the Uzbek star in their light middleweight (70kg) semi-final which is Toirova’s first ever loss in her career. Abudureyimu is the second Chinese finalist in Astana where her opponent for the gold medal will be Kazakhstan’s Mariya Sidorenko.
