The Royal Guard defeated the Fusiliers at the Bahrain Royal Rumble Charity Boxing Event
Bahrain Boxing Federation arranged a Charity Boxing Event in the recent days which was won by the Royal Guard defeating the Fusiliers 8-1. The President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Excellency, Mr. Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa was one of the patronages of the boxing event.
“It was an important evening with multiple goals, the most prominent of which is strengthening Bahraini-British cooperation and relations in the sports field, especially the level of boxing,” said after the charity event His Excellency, Mr. Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
His Excellency, Mr. Shaikh Salman Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Vice-President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council also followed the bouts from the venue. The President of the Bahrain Boxing Federation Mr. Omar Salman Al Sulais and the Secretary General of the Bahrain National Olympic Committee, Mr. Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji also watched the charity boxing event.
The Royal Guard were facing off against the boxers of the British Army’s Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in the Royal Rumble Charity Boxing Event. Bahrain’s capital city Manama enjoyed the boxing gala and the country is also planning to host the ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships later this year.
Bahrain Boxing Federation had excellent results in the recent years, firstly their Denys Latypov qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games as first from the nation. Secondly, the country achieved its first ever Asian medal, a bronze at the Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships.
Fusiliers’ Charley Nolan won the first contest of the Royal Rumble Charity Event who defeated Guard’s Sulev Raj Tuladhur by RSC in the first round at the featherweight (57kg). Following that, the Royal Guard won eight-in-a-row contests in the Royal Rumble and defeated their British counterparts. Yousif Albalooshi celebrated the first local success, he defeated Liam Hicks of the Fusiliers at the lightweight (60kg). His teammates such as Hassan Alsashar, Prakash Limbu Ijan, Ali Saeed, Ariz Khan, Ebrahim Abdulaziz, Youssef Abdul Jani and Rasheed Mehrinfar all won their contests against the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
