The reigning ASBC Asian Champions are only one step away to earn medals in Nis

The winners of the fourth competition day need only one further step to earn a medal at the IBA Women’s Elite World Boxing Championships in Nis, Serbia.
Nis is the third largest city in Serbia with the population of 260,000 with its suburbs and the administrative center of the Nisava District. Nis is a historic city, built by the time of the Roman Empire and it has a fortress, memorial park, chapels, monuments and other important sightseeing.
The women’s boxers are able to participate in all of the twelve official weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg) in Nis.
Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Champion at the minimumweight (48kg), Farzona Fozilova advanced to the quarter-finals in Nis after beating China’s Zhong Xueyun in a technician contest. Kazakhstan’s Nazym Kyzaibay controlled the first and second rounds against Slovakia’s Boxam Tournament winner Nicole Durikova and she is also in the quarter-finals of this smallest weight class.
DPR Korea’s Hong Kyong Ryong proved not only her technical advantage against Romania’s Ramona Mihaela Manea but she stopped her opponent in the third round. Another DPR Korean star, the World Champion Pang Chol Mi also won her contest by RSC, she was outstanding against Vietnam’s Tran Thi To Nhu at the flyweight (52kg).
Kazakhstan’s Karina Ibragimova returned to the world of boxing after a few months and she was focused against a dangerous opponent, Colombia’s Valeria Arboleda at the women’s featherweight (57kg) from the first seconds until the last.
The Chinese female boxers are amazing in this championship as well and their Cai Yan impressed against Russia’s favourite Liudmilla Vorontsova to join the quarter-finals of the featherweight (57kg). Thailand’s ASBC Asian Champion Punrawee Ruenros was confident once again and she bowed out DPR Korea’s Ku Hyang Suk in Nis.
Tajikistan’s Mizhgona Samadova is one of the strongest punchers at the featherweight (57kg) and she stopped her Kenyan opponent, Pauline Wandia Chege in the second round. Uzbekistan’s multiple Asian Champion Nigina Uktamova not only moved up successfully to the featherweight (57kg) but she was dominant against Colombia’s Melani Girado, spending less than one round in the ring.
Vietnam’s Hoang Ngoc Mai felt that she has her lifetime chance to get a medal in the championship and she gave in everything to beat Venezuela’s Genesis Palma at the light middleweight (70kg). The 24-year-old Vietnamese needs only one further step to earn a medal in Nis which could be her career highlight.
Kazakhstan’s reigning ASBC Asian Elite Champion at the light middleweight (70kg), Natalya Bogdanova stopped Spain’s Dunia Martinez with powerful performance. Uzbekistan’s middleweight (75kg) youngster Aziza Zokirova outpointed Belarus’ Alina Veber and she was also strong enough to dominate the battle.
