The registrations for the upcoming ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships start today
The registrations for the forthcoming ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships are open from today and the National Federations can register their boxers until August 1.
The upcoming ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships will be held in Al-Ain, United Arab Emirates between August 27 and September 10. Al-Ain is an inland oasis and garden city in the UAE near to the eastern border with Oman and it has the population of 750,000.
This is the first time when the ASBC management combined the schoolboys-schoolgirls age group with the juniors in an Asian Boxing Championships. The schoolgirls will make a history, for them this will be the first ever edition but many of them have experience from the national level events.
The 2008 and 2009 born boxers will be able to compete at the junior age group in Al Ain, UAE. Boxers who were born in 2010 and in 2011 will be eligible to participate in the schoolboys and schoolgirls competition.
The last edition of the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships was held in Astana, Kazakhstan last October-November. The first and last event for the younger age group, the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships took place in Kuwait City on August 2019 and it will return after five years of break to the boxing map.
The junior boxers will be able to compete in the following weight categories: 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg. The schoolgirls and schoolboys categories in both genders will be the 33kg, 35kg, 37kg, 40kg, 43kg, 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 55kg, 58kg, 61kg, 64kg, 67kg, 70kg and +70kg.
