The Penang Pesta International Tournament will start on January 19

The Penang Pesta International Tournament will be held on January 19-25 and it could be a preparation event for the later actions. Boxers from the U22 age group are eligible to participate in the upcoming event which means the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 born pugilists can test themselves in Penang.
Malaysia will be the host of the next Penang Pesta Tournament as in the previous editions as well. The island of Penang is one of the boxing capitals in Malaysia, the region hosted several national competition and international events in the last decade.
The elite male boxers will be able to compete in the following weight categories: 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg and 92kg.

The last edition of the Penang Pesta was held on December 2023 with the participation of the neighbouring countries. Indonesia, host Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Singapore shared the gold medals at the Penang Pesta International Tournament in the finals of the competitions.
Seven women boxers were on the board of the Penang Pesta International Tournament for the very first time in the event’s history. Malaysia’s Patricia Jaquilina Anak Bruce became the first ever female gold medallist in the Penang Pesta International Tournament.
The Sri Lankans were excellent in the 2023 edition of the Penang Pesta Tournament and their top boxers impressed the crowd in Malaysia.
