The Mongolian Olympic Start National Championships opened with the participation of 474 young boxers

The Mongolian Boxing Federation hosted their Elite National Championships and Youth National Championships earlier this year. Their current competition is running in their capital city in Ulaanbaatar, the Mongolian Olympic Start National Boxing Championships.

There are 474 boxers from 49 different teams in the Mongolian Olympic Start National Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar. The number of the weight classes is 48 in this event which is the highlight this week. Another national event, their Mongolian Junior National Games, have been scheduled next week.

The Mongolian Olympic Start National Boxing Championships opened with 14 preliminary contests at the 28kg weight class for the boxers who were born in 2011. B. Temuulen defeated O. Enerelt in the opening contest of the entire championships and only judges’ scores decided most of the bouts.

The Mongolians impressed in the previous international events, their boxers earned plenty of medals at the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships, ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships, furthermore their best ones were on the podiums in the Women’s and Men’s World Boxing Championships as well.

This new kind of national event will support their national coaches in the younger age groups to find the best talents for the future, including the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan between July 14 and 30 which is their next main target together with the East Asian Youth Games which is scheduled to be held in Ulaanbaatar from August 16.
