The Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys National Championships will be held in Bishkek on June 19-23

The Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys National Championships will take place later this month on June 19-23 and it will be a selection competition for the national team. The competition will be held for the 2010 and 2011 born boxers in the Kozhomkul Sports Complex in Bishkek.

The Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys National Boxing Championships was named by their famous coach and Master of Sports of the USSR, Mr. Vladimir Roslov who built up generations of boxers in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Kyrgyzstan arranged most of their National Championships in various age groups already in 2024 and their elite international competition, the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament as well.

Kyrgyzstan competed in the 1st edition of the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City five years ago where their boxers claimed three silver and three bronze medals. Among them, one of the silver medallists, Bekzat Ergeshov is now member of their U22 and elite national teams as well.

The management of the Kyrgyz Boxing Federation expects the participation of more than 250 young talents in the upcoming national event. The regional selections for the National Championships are under progress in the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.

All of the official 14 schoolboys weight categories will be in action in the male part of the Schoolboys National Championships. The women’s boxing is in developing stage in Kyrgyzstan and their youngest female talents have the potential to keep the level of the boys in the upcoming years.

Their next generation of schoolgirls and schoolboys contains several talents from all regions of Kyrgyzstan, but Bishkek, the city of Osh, Dzhalal-Abad, the Chui region, the Talas region and the Naryn region are the leaders of their boxing life. The Kyrgyz Schoolboys National Championships is a selection for the upcoming ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls National Championships which is scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE from August 21.
