The Iranian Junior National Championships is running in Hamedan with the participation of 206 boxers
The Iranian Junior National Championships started in the city of Hamedan with the participation of 206 male boxers who arrived from 31 different regions of the country. After all competition days thirteen champions will be crowned in Hamedan which is the capital of the Hamedan Province and located 360km southwest of Tehran.
The level of the competition is high and supports Iran’s next generations to raise their experiences in the world of boxing furthermore it is also a selection for their coaches. Boxers who were born in 2002 and in 2003 are eligible to compete in the Iranian Junior National Championships.
The next edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships will be held in 2019 and this age group is more than important for the current ASBC management to develop the sport from the grassroots.
The Iranian Boxing Federation is very active in the boxing map, their new management has strategic plans to develop the sport into the level of the top nations in the upcoming years and host more international events in the country.
Their next activity after the Junior National Championships will be the first historical Iranian Schoolboys National Boxing Olympiad will be held in the city of Zahedan at the end of November which is part of their long term strategy.
The competition will be starting with its opening day on November 21 with the expected participation of 500 young men boxers therefore the Iranian Schoolboys National Boxing Olympiad will be one of the biggest Asian events in this age group in 2018.
