The Indian Open International Tournament will be held in New Delhi in January
The first edition of the Indian Open International Boxing Tournament will be held in New Delhi from January 24 until 28. India hosted the AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships in Guwahati last month and their next international competition is coming in the first month of 2018.
The competition will be held in the 10 men weight classes: 49kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 91kg and +91kg. The Boxing Federation of India decided to launch this new event in all of the women weight classes as well: 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg.
The day of the arrival to the Indian Open International Boxing Tournament is January 23 while January 24 is the first competition day in New Delhi. The finals are scheduled on January 28 in the New Delhi Sports Complex.
The Indian Open International Boxing Tournament will be the first Asian tournament in the 2018 which will be important for all of the National Federations in the year of the Asian Games.
