The boxing event of the East Asian Youth Games will take place in Ulaanbaatar on August 16-23

The new East Asian Youth Games will be an important multisport event this summer shortly after the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships and boxing is also on the agenda of the event. Mongolia’s capital city, the historic Ulaanbaatar will be the host of the upcoming next edition, starting on August 16 until the 23rd.

China, DPR Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Macau, host Mongolia, Chinese Taipei and Guam have the rights to compete in the East Asian Youth Games this August. All of the East Asian countries are planning to send boxers to the Games

More than 1500 athletes are expected to participate in the East Asian Youth Games in 11 sports including athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, esports, football, judo, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball and wrestling. Boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006 are eligible to participate in the East Asian Youth Games.

The boxing event of the East Asian Youth Games will be held between the second and the sixth competition days in Ulaanbaatar. The women and the men youth boxers have been preparing hard for the Games and several of the countries have already arranged their selection tournaments and protocols.

The Mongolian Boxing Federation was planning to host the Ulaanbaatar Box Cup on August 21-28 but due to the host city agreement of the East Asian Youth Games, their management had to cancel the international elite tournament.

The ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan between July 14 and 30. Several of those youth talents from the East Asian region are planning to participate in both of the major competitions.
