The Bombay Bullets delivered a top surprise in the Big Bout Indian Boxing League with their success over the previously unbeaten Gujarat Giants

Following the Ne Rhinos’ close success over the Odisha Warriors, the Bombay Bullets delivered the top sensation of the Indian Big Bout Boxing League. The Bombay Bullets has strong line-ups but their 4-3 success over the previously unbeaten Gujarat Giants was a big surprise in the League.

Big Bout is the official name of the Indian Boxing League which is a new program of the Boxing Federation of India which will be closing the busy year of 2019. Boxing Federation of India covered all costs for the boxers including flight tickets, accommodation, meals and local transportation, furthermore strong money prizes for the boxers. The competition period of the League is from December 2 until December 21 which is open for top foreign boxers as well.  

Bombay Bullets’ first success was achieved by Naveen Boora who proves amazing performance in the Big Bout Boxing League and defeated a top Indian, AIBA World Boxing Championships competitor Duryodhan Singh Negi at the welterweight (69kg). Following his split decision success, Naveen Boora remained unbeaten in the League and won the first fight of the night.

Emmanuel Reyes has got strong Cuban roots but he has been competing already for Spain and won his next fight against a European opponent, Scott Forrest of Scotland at the heavyweight (91kg). The next Spanish speaking boxer in the team of Bombay Bullets was Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medallist Ingrit Lorena Valencia of Colombia who demonstrated her power against Indian National Champion Monika at the flyweight (51kg). Ananta Chopade’s victory meant that the Bombay Bullets won four-in-a-row fights and his success was guaranteed the final victory for the franchise.

The Gujarat Giants won their first three matches in the League and they found their winning path only after 0-4 in this encounter. Gujarat’s 19-year-old Parveen controlled her fight against Spaniard Melissa Noemi Gonzalez Tudge at the women’s lightweight (60kg). The Gujarat Giants’ Ashish Kumar (men’s 75kg) and Poonam (women’s youth 57kg) defeated their opponents which meant Bombay Bullets won the fight 4-3 after their 4-0 run.
