The Asian Boxing Family send their best wishes to the Boxing federation of India on their Republican Day
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand, furthermore the whole ASBC management send their best wishes to the Boxing Federation of India and their whole Boxing Family on their Republican Day.
The Indian Republic Day marks and celebrates the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on January 26 in 1950. The country became sovereign and independent from the British Empire after World War II and the Constitution replaced the Government of India Act turning the nation into a republic.
The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on November 26 in 1949 and came into effect on January 26 two months later. The President Mr. Rajendra Prasad arranged a parade in 1950 to celebrate the first Republic Day which is a national holiday in the country. The main celebration is held in the capital city of India in New Delhi at the Rajpath before the President of India with parades to tribute India’s great heritage.
The management of the Boxing Federation of India worked hard in the recent years to achieve strong results in the international competitions, which is the success of their President Mr. Ajay Singh and his management team. The Boxing Federation of India hosted several competitions during his era including the 2018 and 2023 editions of the Women’s World Boxing Championships.
Their Asian Champion middleweight (75kg) star, Lovlina Borgohain achieved bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games and the country earned already four female quotas for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The best Indian boxers will compete at the upcoming Strandja Memorial and Boxam Tournaments in Europe before the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which give them opportunities to achieve more spots for Paris.
