The Asian Boxing Family congratulates to the Iranian Boxing Federation on their Revolution Day
The management of the Asian Boxing Confederation and the whole Asian Boxing Family are sending their best wishes to the Iranian Boxing Federation on their Revolution Day.
The Revolution Day is a public holiday in Iran observed on the 22nd day of the Persian month of Bahman. The day is known as Bahman 22 in Iran which celebrates the Islamic Revolution in 1979. The new government of Iran changed the country’s state form from kingdom to Islamic Republic and approved a new constitution.
The Iranians earned a historic bronze medal at the Belgrade 2021 Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships and the powerful country bagged medals also at the Budva 2024 Youth World Boxing Championships.
Iran is a promising country in boxing, their boxers reached gold medals at the recent ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Al Ain and the technical progress of their talents are significant.
Iran’s best talent in our sport, the 16-year-old Mohammad Saleh Mesbahi Rouzbahani impressed in Al Ain where he was dominant against India’s Prashant and Uzbekistan’s Diyorbek Murodillayev at the junior light middleweight (70kg). He became Iran’s first ever two-time ASBC Asian Junior Champion in the event’s history.
Iran hosted all of their National Championships in 2024 to find the new talents in the younger age groups for the main competitions in 2025.
The President of the Iranian Boxing Federation, Mr. Seyed Roohollah Hosseini, their former national team member, has long-term strategic goals to get back Iran to the boxing nations. The popularity of boxing is very high in all of the regions in Iran and their grassroots programs were successful in the recent years.
