The ASBC management wishes Happy Thai New Year to our Boxing Family

The ASBC management wishes Happy Thai New Year for the Southeast Asian boxing family which may bring prosperity, health, successes, excellent sport results and happiness to all of our stakeholders.

The so-called Songkran is the Thai New Year’s national holiday which is on April 13 every year but the celebrations continues until April 15. The Songkran was the official New Year until 1888 and the public water fights are popular among the Thais and the foreigners as well.

The word of “Songkran” comes from the Sanskrit language and it means movement, transformation and an astrological passage. The Songkran festival celebrates not only in Thailand, but in Laos, in Cambodia, in Myanmar, in Sri Lanka, and some parts of Vietnam, in India and also in China.

Thailand hosted the last edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Chiang Mai last December which was a great success. Thailand will be also the host of the upcoming Thailand Open Tournament and the Southeast Asian Games in 2025.
