The ASBC Extraordinary Congress will take place at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Bangkok on October 14

The Asian Boxing Confederation’s Extraordinary Congress will take place at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on October 14. The Grand Ballroom will be the venue of the ASBC Extraordinary Congress and around 80 participants from all of the affiliated Asian National Federations are expected to participate in Thailand’s capital.

The Board of Directors Meeting will feature in the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Bangkok one day before the Extraordinary Congress. The BOD meeting will begin with ASBC President Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira’s speech in the 302 meeting room at 13:00 on October 13.

The Asian Boxing Confederation arranged a Board of Directors meeting in Thailand’s capital in Bangkok in the recent two days regarding the International Olympic Committee’s decision to withdraw the recognition of the International Boxing Association and expel the IBA in their IOC Session on June 22.

The Asian Boxing Confederation launched a statement answering all of the issues informing the affiliated National Federations. The ASBC Board of Directors including the ASBC President Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira committed to support our boxers in their pursuit of the Olympic dream.

The ASBC Board of Directors approved the ASBC Annual Report on their last meeting in Bangkok, Thailand on June 23 when further important decisions have been made during the long conversations. The ASBC Annual Report contains 62 pages and all of the important details about the organization’s efforts in 2022, their structure, governance, finance and championships.

The forthcoming meetings will be discussed about the ASBC Annual Report, the Minutes of the ASBC General Assembly and the ongoing situation between the International Boxing Association and the International Olympic Committee. ASBC requested to appoint Thailand’s Mr. Chaiwat Chotima as ASBC Honorary Vice-President.

The International Olympic Committee’s Director General Mr. Christophe De Kepper confirmed that boxing will be involved in the official program of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games which was pending in the recent one year.
