The ASBC Asian Junior Champion Akhmadi Arvaz won his first international youth tournament in Talas
The Moldon Murataliev Youth Tournament was held in the city of Talas in Kyrgyzstan which was an international competition to develop the experience of the next generation.
Kyrgyzstan arranged several international competitions in 2024 including their most famous event, the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament in April.
The number of the athletes was 89 in the Murataliev Youth Tournament in Talas where boxers could fight from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg). The boxers from the 2006 and 2007 age groups could compete in this international challenge but some top hopefuls from the year 2008 got the right to participate in Talas.
The Bishkek-based Mayrambek Karabayev won the first title in the entire competition, the 17-year-old boxer had a tough final against Salavat Orzubayev but due to his good finish, he could manage the victory by 3:2 split decision.
A local boxer, Kayrat Kalmuratov caused one of the main sensations at the Murataliev Youth Tournament when he eliminated the Youth World Championships quarter-finalist Momunaly Ybyraimakunov in the last four and he defeated Yasur Taalaybek Uulu in the final of the flyweight (51kg) as well.
The Uzbeks are strong guests in the international events in Kyrgyzstan and two of their boxers competed successfully in the Murataliev Youth Tournament. Mukhammad Sobutkhanov has experience from the recent ASBC Championships and he dominated the bantamweight (54kg) final over Daniyar Zhaparov in Talas. His teammate, Safar Allaberganov, won the second title for the Uzbeks at the busy middleweight (75kg).
The Belarusians also sent their youth team to the city of Talas and their Zakhar Veselouski succeeded at the featherweight (57kg) before his teammate, Ivan Bogdanovich won the title of the light heavyweight (80kg).
The 17-year-old Nurbolot Sultonov competed already in three big championships during his career and he had the routine to beat Erlan Ergeshov at the lightweight (60kg) final. Another 17-year-old talent, Mukhammed Alimbekov succeeded at the light welterweight (63.5kg) which was another strong division in Talas.
Kyrgyzstan’s Akhmadi Arvaz is the reigning ASBC Asian Junior Champion from Al Ain and the 16-year-old boxer won his first ever youth competition in Talas after beating four strong rivals. Ramzan Kadyrov (71kg), Azim Choybekov (86kg) and Myrzakir Koshaliyev (+92kg) participated in several championships before the Murataliev Tournament and all won their weight categories.
