The 2nd Pakistan Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships will be held in Karachi next month
The Pakistan Boxing Federation arranged already two competitions this year, the National Championships in Karachi and the National Games in the city of Quetta. Their third top event in 2023 is the 2nd Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships which will be held in the third week of July.
Karachi is the biggest city in Pakistan and after the Elite National Boxing Championships, a top competition will return to the capital of Sindh province. The Pakistan Navy will be the host of the 2nd Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships in Karachi this time. The Pakistan Navy earned several medals in the recent National Games and their top athletes are planning to show their development on home soil.
The elite women athletes will have the possibility to join the males in the 2nd Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships and celebrate new champions in Karachi. The elite men boxers will be able to participate in all of the 13 categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg) in Karachi.
The Secretary General of the Pakistan Boxing Federation Mr. Nasir Tung will arrange several parts of the preparations for this national event. All of the regions, the Army, the Air Force, the Navy and cities from Pakistan are expected to take part in the 2nd Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships.
Twenty boxers earned their gold medals at the previous Pakistan National Games which was took place in Quetta, Baluchistan province on May. The National Games was one of the selection tournaments for the boxing tournament of the Asian Games and the 2nd Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships could be the last in that line.
