The 2nd Pakistan Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships stars with 19 contests in Karachi today

Following the celebrations of the International Boxing Day in Pakistan, a new competition began in the country. Pakistan Boxing Federation arranged already two competitions this year, the National Championships in Karachi and the National Games in the city of Quetta. Their third top event in 2023 is the 2nd Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships is underway in Karachi this week.

Nineteen contests have scheduled in the first competition day at the second edition of the Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships. The Pakistan Navy will be the host of the 2nd Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships in Karachi this time. The Pakistan Navy earned several medals in the recent National Games and their top athletes are planning to show their development on home soil.

Karachi is the biggest city in Pakistan and after the Elite National Boxing Championships, a top competition will return to the capital of Sindh province. The competition will support the boxers to increase their experiences and prepare to the next main goals.

The elite women athletes have the opportunity to join the male boxers in the 2nd Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships in Karachi. The elite men boxers will be able to participate in all of the 13 categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg) in Karachi.

The Secretary General of the Pakistan Boxing Federation Mr. Nasir Tung arranged most part of the preparations for this national event. All of the regions, the Army, the Air Force, the Navy and main cities from Pakistan are taking part in the 2nd Inter-Departmental Boxing Championships.
