The 2nd Belt & Road International Youth Boxing Festival started with its training camp and Gala Dinner

The Gala Dinner of the 2nd Belt & Road International Youth Boxing Festival was held in the Grand Mercure Hotel in Urumqi, Xinjiang province, China today.

The Chinese Boxing Federation and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Municipal Government are the organizers of the Festival.

The Chinese Boxing Federation has a lot of strategic plans for the future following their three Olympic gold medal in our sport and their next initiative is the 2nd Belt & Road Youth Boxing Festival in Urumqi. The 1st edition was held in December 2023 and the regional boxing federation plans to increase the event’s popularity in the upcoming years.  

The 2nd Belt & Road International Youth Boxing Festival will be held in Urumqi and Yili City in the Xinjiang region of China between September 23 and October 10. The training camp is already in progress in the busy capital city of the Xinjiang region.

The Belt & Road International Youth Boxing Festival will include international training camp, competition, forum, educational programs, cultural shows and Referee & Judge and Coaches seminars.

Mr. Ray Silvas from the United States will be the Instructor of the upcoming Courses in Urumqi. Mrs. Liang Yuan, the Technical Delegate of the Paris Olympics and the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships, also attended in the Gala Dinner with the officials of the Xinjiang Boxing Federation.

The Asian Boxing Confederation is represented by the Media Manager Mr. Tibor Kincses and the ASBC Photographer, Mrs. Margit Kincses in Urumqi.

The Gala Dinner was attracted by local cultural shows, singers, outstanding performances to delight the evening in Urumqi. 

China, Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Thailand and Uzbekistan are all planning to participate in the competition as well.

Boxing is one of the most popular sports in the Xinjiang region of China, their two-time Olympian Tuohetaerbieke Tanglatihan earned a gold medal in the last edition of the Asian Games and a silver in the 2023 World Boxing Championships. The venue of the event is the Xinjiang International Boxing Training Centre in Urumqi which has excellent facilities.
