The 19-year-old Thananchai Phoemsap won his first Thai elite national title

The male finals delighted the experts at the Thailand National Boxing Championships which was held in Muak Lek.
Royal Thai Police’s Parinya Khamlama won the Best Male Boxer Trophy after the finals for the very first time. The Royal Navy Team won the male part of the competition and the rankings among the squads.
The Thai Olympians such as Thitisan Panmot, Bunjong Sinsiri and Weerapon Jongjoho were missing in the event and some others who competed in the recent main international championships.
Ratchanawee’s Thitiwat Phlongaurai competed last time at the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament in Kyrgyzstan this April and the young hope had the strength to beat Ratipong Khamthao by RSC in the second round.
Sathit Kaewkasem from the Army Region 2 defeated Nakhon Ratchasima Royal Military Academy’s Sathit Kaewkasem in the final of the flyweight (51kg) while one of the previous national team members, Thani Narinram achieved only a bronze in the national event.
Police’s Parinya Khamlama not only won the final of the bantamweight (54kg) against Sukhothai’s Narong Philuek but he was awarded the Best Boxer Trophy while the main favourite, Thanakon Aonyaem lost his semi-final bout.
Royal Navy’s Phisit Paochanthuek competed in three editions of the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships but the 19-year-old boxer lost to Panupong Sophasuk of Army in the final of the featherweight (57kg) which was the closest contests of the last session.
Police’s Sakda Ruamtham is the most experienced Thai at the light welterweight (63.5kg) and he dominated all of his contests in the national event. Royal Navy’s Natthaphon Saengkla stopped his final opponent in the second round, Nantacha Phumkonsarn and he earned the title of the welterweight (67kg).
Sathaporn Krasaesorn was slightly better than Army’s Bunchuay Phonsungnoen at the light middleweight (71kg) final, taking his first elite national title. The Youth World Championships quarter-finalist 19-year-old Thananchai Phoemsap used the right strategy against a veteran, Kittisak Klinsorn at the middleweight (75kg) final.
