The 13th Taipei City Box Cup will be held on August 17-21

One of the top upcoming international tournaments, the Taipei City Box Cup for the elite women and men boxers will be held in Taipei between August 17 and 21. The new edition of the Taipei City Box Cup will support the preparations of the teams for the upcoming Asian Games which opens on September 23.

The 13th edition of the Taipei City Box Cup will take place in six female categories at the women’s light flyweight (50kg), bantamweight (54kg), featherweight (57kg), lightweight (60kg), welterweight (66kg) and middleweight (75kg).

The male boxers will be able to compete also in six various divisions at the flyweight (51kg), featherweight (57kg), light welterweight (63.5kg), light middleweight (71kg), light heavyweight (80kg) and heavyweight (92kg).

The local organizers are available in the email address of tibt.boxing@gmail.com where all of the participating teams had to send their registration forms. The local transportation from the Airport to the hotel and the competition venue is free of charge.

The city of Taipei is a busy metropolis and a unique combination of the Chinese, Japanese, Southeast Asian and American cultures. The local organizers are welcome the elite female and male boxers in a friendly environment and a real family tournament.

The previous editions of the Taipei City Box Cup delivered excellent fights and wonderful moments for all of the crowd and the experts. Japan, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, DPR Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, host Chinese Taipei and Indonesia all impressed in the past editions.

The management in Chinese Taipei selected the squad for the Asian Games and following the decision, eight strong boxers including four girls will be able to represent the country in Hangzhou, China this September.

Their coaches Mr. Ko Wen Ming, Mr. Tseng Tzu Chiang, Mr. Liu Chung Tai, and a former top national boxer Mr. Lo Shang Che will follow the performance of the boxers and check the current skills of the powerful team.
