The 11th Serik Sapiyev Prizes Junior Tournament moved into a new date, November 21-26
The managers of the upcoming 11th edition of the Serik Sapiyev Prizes Junior Tournament decided to move the competition into a new date. The original period of this strong junior competition in Kazakhstan was November 15-21 but the new date is November 21-26.
The Serik Sapiyev will be held in the Karaganda Boxing Development Center in Kazakhstan and the event will support to find new talents in our sport. The deadline for the preliminary registrations to the Serik Sapiyev Prizes Junior Tournament remained the same date, it must be sent until October 30.
Mr. Serik Sapiyev was Kazakhstan’s boxing icon between 2005 and 2012 who earned gold medals in all of the major championships. He bagged a title at the London 2012 Olympic Games where he was awarded the Val Barker Trophy as well. He won the World Championships in 2005 and in 2007, the Asian Games in 2010 and the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships twice during his career.
The 2008 and 2009 born boxers are eligible to participate in the Serik Sapiyev Prizes Junior Tournament. The age group will be the official junior category in the year of 2024 and the Serik Sapiyev Tournament support the younger 14 and 15-year-old boys to increase their international experiences.
The competitors will be able to attend at the 44kg, 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, and the +80kg weight categories in Karaganda. The organizers of Serik Sapiyev Prizes Tournament are the Karaganda Regional Boxing Federation and the Department of Sports of the Karaganda Region.
The Best Boxer of the Tournament will get a special prize established by the sponsors of the international competition. The travel expenses must be paid by the sending organization but the accommodation and the meals are covered by the host organization during the competition period in Karaganda.
