Thailand’s top athletes increased their trainings in Saraburi before the National Boxing Championships
Thailand’s best elite boxers have been preparing to the upcoming National Championships and their preparation is in the final stage with plenty of sparring. The best elite Thai team members did not attend in the National Championships in the recent years but due to the lack of the events, all of their stars will be attending in the competition.
The elite national team trains in their National Sports Training Centre in Saraburi with full speed to the upcoming events. All of their four qualified boxers for Tokyo as AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships silver medallist Sudaporn Seesondee, ASBC Asian Women’s Youth Champion Baison Manikon, AIBA Youth World Champion 19-year-old Thitisan Panmod and veteran team captain Chatchai Decha Butdee have been preparing to their objectives with strong motivations.
Altogether 18 male boxers have been involved to the training camp who have been supported by 11 coaches which means specific individual preparation is possible for them. Currently 14 female boxers are also there in the national training camp with the support and instructions of four experienced coaches. All of the best equipment, medical, psychological, mental, and dietetic supports are available for the boxers in Saraburi.
The Thailand National Boxing Championships will be held in Muak Lek District, Saraburi Province in November 16-22. Thailand Boxing Association could not host pre-events in the regions therefore the National Boxing Championships is open for all boxers from each provinces of the country. According to the officials of the Thailand Boxing Association hundreds of participants are expecting to take part in the event in Muak Lek District.
Thailand’s elite female and male teams prepared at home hard during the quarantine period of the Covid-19 pandemic especially in Spring time. They returned to their National Training Centre after three months of break in June and after nearly five months of intense preparations, their top boxers are in good shape. The safety measures are important and all of their boxers passed successfully the medical tests several times in the previous months. Some of Thailand’s previous Olympic boxing heroes as Sydney 2000 Champion Mr. Wijan Ponlid, and Mr. Suban Pannon are also with team as coaches and support the preparation of the elite national team. Sudaporn Seesondee was named as the captain of their women’s boxing team, while veteran three-time Olympian Chatchai Decha Butdee received the honour to lead the male squad.
