Thailand sends maximum number of 10 boxers to the Asian Games

The upcoming Jakarta 2018 Asian Games will be the highlight of the boxing events in the Asian continent this year and all of the national teams have been preparing hard to reach good results in the multisport event which will be holding between August 21 and September 2. Thailand’s head coach and management selected their final squad for the Asian Games in the recent days.
The Thailand Boxing Federation will be sending maximum number of 10 strong boxers to Jakarta, three women and seven Thai men boxers will be representing them in Indonesia. The Thailand Open Boxing Tournament was a big success for the Thai team and the last preparation event before the start of the Asian Games.
Their newcomer woman boxer Nilawan Techaseup attended at the featherweight (57kg) in the Ulaanbaatar Box Cup in Mongolia but she will be moving back to the flyweight (51kg) and attending in that category in Jakarta. She is new in the international boxing map but has got all of the skills to make surprises in the Asian Games.
The Thai women team still contains AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Chuthamat Raksat will be attending at the featherweight (57kg) this time. Their third woman boxer will be Sudaporn Seesondee who claimed bronze medal at the Jeju 2014 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and proved tough performance in 2018.
Thailand’s light flyweight (49kg) boxer among the men boxers will be Thani Narinram who was gold medallist in the 2014 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships and achieved silver in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games. Yuttapong Tongdee is a newcomer also in the Thai national top team who will be boxing at the flyweight (52kg) in the Games.
Chatchai Butdee is one of the most experienced Thai men elite boxers who achieved several titles during his career including gold at the 2015 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships. The 33-year-old bantamweight (56kg) boxer, who achieved bronze medal at the Almaty 2013 AIBA World Boxing Championships, is getting prepared to his first ever Asian Games title.
Thailand’s new lightweight (60kg) boxer is Somchai Wongsuwan who was successful in a few international elite events following his youth career. Thailand’s No.1 Wuttichai Masuk is titleholder at the light welterweight (64kg) and he has got strong experiences since 2008 but he will have hard Uzbek, Kazakh, Mongolian, Indian, Kyrgyz, Chinese and South Korean opponents in the Asian Games in Jakarta.
Thailand’s another experienced boxer three-time Olympian Saylom Ardee won the Southeast Asian Games also several times and has got all of the technical and tactical skills to win at least a medal at the welterweight (69kg). Thailand’s middleweight (75kg) boxer will be Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships competitor Aphisit Kanankhokkhruea in Jakarta.
