Ten strong Uzbek girls train in Wuhan as part of their preparations for the Asian Games
The women’s national team of Uzbekistan trains together with their Chinese counterparts in the city of Wuhan which is part of their preparations for the Asian Games. The multisport event will be starting in Hangzhou, China on September 23 and all of the teams are in preparations on that road. Elshod Rasulov, Mr. Islom Tojiboyev, Mr. Sharif Narzikulov and Mrs. Anna Sidorova are the Uzbek coaches of the women’s national team in the city of Wuhan. Their head coach Mr. Elshod Rasulov selected a 10-strong team to the Chinese training camp and among them six will be able to participate in the most important event of the year, at the Asian Games.
Uzbekistan has two strong options at the light flyweight (50kg), both Sabina Bobokulova and Feruza Kazakova are from their powerful 2003 age group. Both of the talents earned several ASBC titles during their junior, youth and U22 ages but only of them could be able to compete in Hangzhou.
Another 20-year-old multiple ASBC Asian Champion, the super talented Nigina Uktamova and the Women’s World Boxing Championships competitor Mukhlisa Khushvaktova represent the bantamweight (54kg) in the training camp.
Sitora Turdibekova earned a fantastic gold medal at the 2021 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Dubai at the age of 19 and she returned to the featherweight (57kg). Ferghana’s Khumora Mamajonova is a surprise national team member in the training camp, in the same weight as Turdibekova. The top Uzbek lightweight (60kg) boxer, Raykhona Kodirova was an Olympian boxer in Tokyo and the 30-year-old boxer returned to the national team. Dilfuza Bekova, the reigning ASBC Asian Champion at the welterweight (66kg), Navbakhor Khamidova and the two-time ASBC Asian Youth Champion Aziza Zokirova (75kg) are the further top boxers in the Chinese training camp.
