Zarif Nuraliyev delivered the main sensation in the Tajikistan Students National Championships

After the Tajikistan Youth National Championships their Students National Championships was held for the university boxers in Dushanbe. The competition was held for the men elite boxers and saw the challenge of 57 athletes in the capital city of the country where Zarif Nuraliyev delivered the main surprise.
Tajikistan’s best boxers have been preparing to the World Olympic Qualification Event which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan in 16-25 June but their next generation, their younger elite boxers competed in the Students National Championships. Some of the winners are already took part also in international events in the recent years.
Zarif Nuraliyev of Khatlon eliminated Ganchibek Shabdulloyev in the semi-final of the Light Flyweight class (49 kg) and after that clear success he delivered the main sensation of the whole championships in the gold medal bout. Tajikistan National Elite Championships silver medallist Nuraliyev felt the fighting distance against AIBA Asian & Oceanian Olympic Qualification Event competitor and National Champion Shukhrat Sabzaliyev in the final and defeated his experienced top rival in the event.
Bakhtovar Sagizov claimed bronze medal in the Asian University Boxing Championships in Dushanbe one month ago and he could continue the way of success in the national event. The Flyweight class (52 kg) boxer delivered the second success of the Khatlon region after beating Dushanbe’s Shakhrom Mamadaliyev who was member of the Tajik selected team before the Incheon 2014 Asian Games.
Nurali Rakhmonaliyev secured the first gold medal for the capital city’s team at the Bantamweight class (56 kg) following his success over Bilol Kholov in the final. The 22-year-old boxer has been fighting in the national level since 2011 and claimed gold medal in their elite event as well therefore Rakhmonaliyev could be their new hope in the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic era.
Sayod Zoolshoyev of Dushanbe was not the favourite against Siyovush Safoyev in the final of the Lightweight class (60 kg) but he could solve all of the tactical issues in the gold medal bout winning it by unanimous decision. Shokhrukh Oganazarov competed in the 2011 AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships in Astana and moved ahead in the rankings of Tajikistan step by step in the recent years. The 21-year-old talent had a difficult final against another national team member boxer, ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships competitor Akbar Safarov but he was able to beat his top rival by split decision.
The Welterweight class (69 kg) gold medal went to Nekruz Sharipov of Khatlon region who is a new face in the category but he could beat all of his rivals by unanimous decisions including Farukh Khudobakhshov in the final. Nodir Khakimov never win any national events yet but in Dushanbe he ticked this from his bucket list after beating Saidjalol Avgonov in the gold medal bout of the Middleweight class (75 kg).
Dushanbe City Champion Shukhrat Khaydarov was too strong for Djamshed Ganiyev in the final of the Light Heavyweight class (81 kg) while the last two categories were won by Khatlon-based boxers such as Kurbon Abdulloi (91 kg) and Usmon Sangakov (+91 kg) at the Tajikistan Students National Championships.
