Tagir Satayev is Kazakhstan’s new junior star who remained unbeaten in 2023
Tagir Satayev is Kazakhstan’s new junior star who is still unbeaten this year following his regional, national and international triumphs. He recently won the welterweight (66kg) at the 7th Nations Junior Cup in Vrbas, Serbia and continued his impressive winning path in 2023.
He trained in the small village of Makhambet, then he moved to the Arena Boxing Club to Uralsk where he prepares every day during the week. The Arena Boxing Club was opened by former Olympian boxer Mr. Nurzhan Karimzhanov, the former World Champion Mr. Galib Dzhafarov, Mr. Marat Zhabalbayev and Mr. Rodion Dzhubatyrov.
Mr. Ruslan Sariyev and a physical trainer Mr. Azamat Sultanov support his preparations in the city of Uralsk which is located in the Northwestern part of Kazakhstan. As a debutant Tagir Satayev won national and regional events among the schoolboys in 2020 and in 2021.
Satayev was involved to the junior national team of Kazakhstan and he won the strongest competition, the Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan two months ago. He defeated his teammate, Igor Solovyev in the final of the light welterweight (63kg) in Baku where the top Uzbeks, Russians, the local Azeris, Tajiks, Kyrgyz and the Georgians also competed.
His next success was the Miroshnichenko Junior Memorial Tournament in Kostanay, Kazakhstan where he dominated all of his three contests at the 63kg including the final against Askar Kuanysh.
He competed at the 7th Nations Junior Cup in Serbia in the previous days and he earned the title of the welterweight (66kg). Satayev had a tough Hungarian opponent, Szebasztian Budai but from the second round, he dominated the contest and bagged his third big title in 2023.
Tagir Satayev has been preparing hard to the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships which will be held in his homeland in Astana from July 14.
