Sufijonov, Iskanov and Abubakri shined during their road to the semi-finals in the Tajikistan Schoolboys National Championships
The Tajikistan Schoolboys National Championships turned to its semi-finals stage in their capital city in Dushanbe today. Altogether 30 semi-final contests are in the official schedule of today’s Tajikistan Schoolboys National Championships. The smallest weight classes are traditionally strong in Tajikistan and several of their young talents including Mekhrodj Sufijonov, Biloljon Iskanov and Davron Abubakri shined during their road to the semi-finals.
Today’s winners will remain their chances alive to win their weight classes in the National Championships which is their first one since April. Boxers at the 29kg, 33kg, 35kg, 37kg, 40kg, 43kg, 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 55kg, 58kg, 61kg, 64kg, 67kg and +67kg weight classes are in action in thee Tajikistan Schoolboys National Championships today.
Boxers who were born in 2006 and in 2007 are eligible to attend in the Tajikistan Schoolboys National Championships from all regions of the country. Tajikistan’s experienced official Mr. Akmal Abdullaev, who worked as Referee & Judge in several ASBC Championships in 2019, is the Supervisor of the Tajikistan Schoolboys National Championships in Dushanbe.
Rakhim Naimov of Khatlon region and Saidekhson Gulomov shined in the smallest weight class at the 29kg and proved their talents in Dushanbe. Juma Shoalifov, one of the titleholders from the 2019 edition of the Tajikistan Schoolboys National Championships, was eliminated already in the first preliminary round which shows the strength of the event at the 33kg where some new names as Dushanbe’s Amirjon Davlatov and last year’s silver medallist Mekhrodj Sufijonov shined until the semi-finals.
Dushanbe’s Abdullojon Mamatkulov and Sughd region’s Jovid Yunusov impressed in the busy 35kg weight class where 15 boxers competed for the title. Dushanbe’s Biloljon Iskanov and Sughd region’s Abubakr Ochilov amazed well enough during their road to the semi-finals of the 37kg weight category in the national event. Iskanov claimed silver medal in the 2019 Tajikistan Schoolboys National Championships and progressed since that event. Dushanbe’s Anushervon Fozilov eliminated Sughd region’s Vladislav Osipov in the quarter-finals of the tough 40kg weight class while his main rivals as Akbar Okhirov and Muinkhon Mavlonov also joined to the last four. Davron Abubakri of Dushanbe has got strong experiences already and could be the favourite of the 43kg weight class but Jafar Khakimov and Damir Muybalikhonov are also still in the competition.
