Successful R&J Course in Vietnam
An important Referee & Judge Course was held in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam where the national level R&Js could raise their knowledges in all areas of the sport. Vietnam is a developing boxing nation with a great possibility in the future to reach the level of the top Asian countries in the upcoming years.
Vietnam’s population reached more than 90 million in the recent years and the sport has got better reputation than ever in the Southeast Asian country. Boxing has got tradition in Vietnam and after a short dark period our combat sport became popular once again in the last decade following their hard work.
Vietnam’s 3-star AIBA Referee & Judge Mr. Vuong Trong Nghia is an engine in the country to develop the level of the local R&Js which is one of the key issue for further goals and directives. The number of the participants in the R&J Course was 63 from 18 different provinces and among them 7 applicants were women.
Vietnam will be hosting the 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships in Ho Chi Minh City in October which shows the great commitment for our combat sport in the country. Ho Chi Minh City or formerly known as Saigon is famous of its martial arts sport schools and boxing life. Their best Referee & Judges could be there in the continental event which could be a highlight in Vietnam’s boxing life.
Vietnam’s Incheon 2014 Asian Games bronze medallists’ duo such as 23-year-old Luu Thi Duyen and Southeast Asian Games winner Le Thi Bang are the flag bearers of women boxing in the country and have got chance to win top bouts in the main events in 2017. Vietnam will be also there in the boxing tournament of the Southeast Asian Games and all important ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in 2017.
