Strong Asian starts at the Bocskai Memorial Tournament and the Nations Women’s Cup

The 68th edition of the Bocskai Memorial Tournament and the 13th Nations Women’s Cup opened with their first competition days in Europe where strong Asian countries are participating in both events this week.

The Kazakhs and the Mongolians sent strong squads to the Bocskai Memorial Tournament which is one of the oldest competitions in Europe. The 68th Bocskai Memorial is holding in the city of Debrecen as all of the previous editions since the 1950s.

The former two-time Asian Games winner and three-time Olympian Mr. Elshod Rasulov, the head coach of the Uzbek women’s elite national team, selected ten girls for the 13th edition of the Nations Women’s Cup which is running in Sombor, Serbia.

Kazakhstan’s Asian Youth Champion Biybars Zheksen is one of the stars at the Bocskai Memorial Tournament in Hungary who controlled all of the three rounds against Mongolia’s Dorjnyambuu Ganbold at the lightweight (60kg).

Sabyrzhan Akkalykov, the 2021 Youth World Champion, had a clear dominance over Hungary’s Laszlo Antal in the first competition day at the men’s light middleweight (71kg). The 21-year-old Kazakh boy is a promising boxer among the elite competitions and he proved his strong potential in this opener.

Yertugan Zeinullinov represented Kazakhstan at the light welterweight (63.5kg) in the recent Asian Games and the 26-year-old boxer also joined the next stage of the Bocskai Memorial after beating Hungary’s Tamas Kovacs.

Uzbekistan’s Asian U22 Champion, the 20-year-old Feruza Kazakova was highly confident against Kazakhstan’s Moldir Toikova and she eliminated her neighbour at the women’s light flyweight (50kg) in Sombor,

Another Uzbek girl, the Women’s World Championships bronze medallist Aziza Yokubova moved up to the flyweight (52kg) and she made her debut superbly against Serbia’s local hope, Jasmina Nadj in the Nations Women’s Cup. Uzbekistan’s Asian Elite Champion and Asian U22 Champion at the women’s welterweight (66kg), Navbakhor Khamidova had a strong test in the first competition day at the Nations Women’s Cup. Khamidova had a super talented opponent, Kazakhstan’s Asian Youth Champion, the 18-year-old Bakyt Seidish but she managed to win this contest unanimously.
