South Korea hosts an international training camp with six nations
South Korea hosts a huge international training camp for various Asian teams in these days to prepare for the first important event of the year.
The 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event will be held in Busto Arsizio, Italy from February 29 and all of the teams have been preparing with full speed to the competition in tournaments and in training camps.
The host South Koreans selected their squads in the previous months after the Asian Games and their new management hope that they will be able to get an Olympic spot in the upcoming 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event.
Chinese Taipei decided to split their squads between the Boxam Tournament in Spain and the training camp in South Korea. Their World Champion and Asian Champion at the women’s featherweight (57kg), Lin Yu Ting is there in the South Korean training camp which is the part of the preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Mongolia achieved two Olympic spots at the Asian Games in Hangzhou and their team opened the year at the Bocskai Memorial Tournament in Hungary. The Mongolians split their squads between various training camps in Germany and in South Korea.
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan both are the top powerhouses in the Asian continent and their National Federations selected several events and training camps before the start of the 1st World Olympic Qualifier. The Uzbek girls impressed at the Nations Women’s Cup in Serbia on the season’s opener and joined the training camp in South Korea.
Hong Kong also joined to the South Korean international camp with a delegation and the country is planning to continue its participation not only on the main championships, but smaller tournaments as well.
