Shokhr Boltekuly Memorial Tournament starts soon

The forthcoming Shokhr Boltekuly Memorial Tournament will be held in the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan where several of the best men boxers of the region can compete for the medals and prizes in the traditionally strong event. Shokhr Boltekuly was one of the key person in Kazakhstan’s boxing history who began developing the sport 83 years ago and opened boxing schools in 1933.
Aktau is located in the Western part of Kazakhstan off the coast to the Caspian Sea with the population of 150,000. Aktau is the capital of the Mangystau region in Kazakhstan which is enough strong in the national boxing level as well. The team of Mangystau region advanced to the semi-finals to the National Federation Team Cup of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Mangystau region’s best boxer is Adilbek Niyazymbetov who claimed silver medal in the London 2012 Olympic Games, Rio 2016 Olympic Games, 2011 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Baku and in the 2013 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Almaty. Kazakhstan’s best Light Heavyweight class (81 kg) boxer has got gold medal also in his collection, he triumphed at the Incheon 2014 Asian Games and also at the 2015 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Bangkok.
Kazakhstan’s AIBA Youth World Champion 20-year-old Shalkar Aikynbay, their WSB boxer Nursultan Koshchegulov, experienced Nurdaulet Zharmanov and Nurzhan Bekzatov all demonstrated top boxing in the last edition of the Shokhr Boltekuly Memorial Tournament where only Ukraine could get a gold medal besides to the host nation’s squad.
Kyrgyzstan will be sending five-strong team with coach Ulan Sagynbayev to the Shokhr Boltekuly Memorial Tournament to Aktau. Kyrgyzstan’s talent Bek Kamchybekov and National Champion Ilyas Mukambetov also involved to the travelling team to Aktau where the level of the tournament will be high as in the recent years.
