Satayev is back on track with a title at the Yeskin International Youth Tournament

Several of the 16-year-old talents claimed gold medals at the Yeskin International Youth Tournament in the city of Aktobe, Kazakhstan. The older Tagir Satayev of Kazakhstan and Mukhammadaziz Abduvaliyev of Uzbekistan delivered strong performances in Aktobe.

The city of Aktobe is located in the Western part of Kazakhstan on the Ilek river and it is an important cultural and economic centre. Boxers who were born in 2007 and in 2008, were eligible to participate in the Yeskin International Youth Tournament in Aktobe.

Akmola region’s Yersin Sagyntay won the first title in the Yeskin International Youth Tournament, he defeated another boxer from the 2008 age group, Dias Alpysbay at the minimumweight (48kg) final.

Twenty-three boxers participated at the flyweight (51kg) in Aktobe and among them Vladislav Perevertun from the Akmola region won all of his five contests. His teammate from the same region, Bekarys Adilbay was dominant at the featherweight (57kg) including in the final against Yernur Kenesbay.

Beibarys Sugirbay was the first winner in the Yeskin Memorial from a different region, the Mangystau-based boxer defeated Nursayat Tynysbekov at the featherweight (57kg). Bekzhan Bekmuratov and Ali Mereke had a fantastic lightweight (60kg) final and the first won their meeting and the title in Aktobe.

Aktau region’s Rizat Tynyshtyk (63.5kg) and Shymkent’s Gayrat Iristayev (67kg) both are only 16 but they defeated all of their opponents with strong performance.

Tagir Satayev won three international competitions in 2023 and he represented Kazakhstan also at the annual ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. He moved up to the light middleweight (71kg) and he was stronger and smarter than Shakhrukh Serikbayev in the final.

Uzbekistan’s Mukhammadaziz Abduvaliyev proved another strong progress in this event, he defeated Amanzhol Imangali and Almat Sanatov at the light heavyweight (80kg). His compatriot, Bakhtiyor Issayev had a close final against Meirambek Assetayev but achieved only silver in Aktobe.

Mangystau region’s Dias Ayupov had a tough final opponent at the super heavyweight (+92kg) but he prepared well against Azerbaijan’s Kenan Najafov. Ayupov landed the stronger punches and the Azeri ringside abandoned their fight in the third round.
