Samadova and Vo eliminated tough opponents in Nis

Tajikistan’s Mizhgona Samadova and Vietnam’s Vo Thi Kim Anh impressed in the second competition day at the  IBA Women’s Elite World Boxing Championships in Nis, Serbia.

Nis is the third largest city in Serbia with the population of 260,000 with its suburbs and the administrative center of the Nisava District. Nis is a historic city, built by the time of the Roman Empire and it has a fortress, memorial park, chapels, monuments and other important sightseeing.

The women’s boxers are able to participate in all of the twelve official weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg) in Nis.

China’s Zhong Xueyun is a new addition to their national team but she had a successful mission against Spain’s Marta Lopez Del Arbol at the minimumweight (48kg). DPR Korea’s bantamweight (54kg) No.1, Paek Jin Hyang also won her contest against Uzbekistan’s Aziza Yokubova by a bout review as Zhong.

Thailand’s ASBC Asian Champion Natnicha Chongprongklang had an experienced opponent from Ireland, Jennifer Lehane but she used her brilliant technical skills to beat her in the first preliminary round of the bantamweight (54kg).

Vietnam’s top boxer, the Thailand Open Tournament winner Vo Thi Kim Anh had a superb performance against China’s Zhao Xuan and she managed to win their bantamweight (54kg) contest in Nis with long-distance tactics.

China’s Wei Sitong dominated the first round against Moldova’s Maia Odajiu in their flyweight (52kg) meeting and the referee stopped their unequal contest in the second. Her teammate, Cai Yan was also too strong for Belarus’ Maryna Muliarchyk at the featherweight (57kg) and won the contest by RSC in the second round.

DPR Korea’s World Champion and Asian Champion Pang Chol Mi is their ace in the national squad who demonstrated her technical skills against Haiti’s Kathreen Sterling at the flyweight (52kg). Uzbekistan’s multiple Asian Champion Nigina Uktamova was the next amazing boxer in the second day of boxing, she stopped Georgia’s Khuraman Kasumova.

Punrawee Ruenros not only changed her name last year but she won the title at the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Chiang Mai. The Thai featherweight (57kg) boxer used her opponent’s faults and she eliminated Romania’s World silver medallist Lacramioara Perijoc in their battle.

Tajikistan’s Mizhgona Samadova had an impressive progress in the recent one and half year and she proved her strength against Mexico’s Diana Paloma Perez. Another strong Asian featherweight (57kg) boxer, Ku Hyang Suk was also succeeded in the second competition day against a veteran boxer, Mongolia’s Bolortuul Tumurkhuyag.
