Record-breaking Coach Course was held in Syria with the participation of 102 trainers including 12 ladies
The Syrian Arab Boxing Association hosted a Course for the national level of their Coaches in the recent days to increase the knowledge of their trainers. Outstanding number of 102 coaches attended in the National Course in the capital city of the country in Damascus. The coaches arrived from 10 different cities and Syria’s two traditional boxing clubs, from the Army and Police.
Among the participants there were also 12 ladies at the very first time which is one of the next important steps in Syria to continue the Gender Equality. Despite of the hard situation in the country, the next plan for the Syrian Arab Boxing Association is to host Women’s National Championships for all age groups next year, for the elite, youth, junior and schoolgirl as well.
The Coach Course began at 9am in the morning and finished at 4pm in the afternoon every day in Damascus. There were practical exams for the coaches, another one in theoretical and pragmatic areas, furthermore the management of the Syrian Arab Boxing Association arranged personal interviews with all of the 102 participants.
Five experienced coaches and experts including the President of the Syrian Arab Boxing Association Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib led the examinations. The Instructors used altogether five rings in a big boxing hall to arrange all actions for the participants which made the course record-breaking in Syria. The Syrians were one of the most active National Federations in the Western Asian region in the recent one and half difficult year.
The next one-week long combined Seminar will be held for the Coaches and also for the Referees & Judges in Latakia soon. The third upcoming course will be held only for the coaches in the city of Homs in the upcoming two months. The Syrian boxing management confirmed that all of the participants in these courses were boxers in the past.
Syria re-joined to the international competitions in the recent months, their boxers competed at the Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships and also at the CISM World Military Boxing Championships in Moscow.
