NOC President His Majesty Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa attended at the Bahrain Schools Sports Forum as part of the preparations for the 2024 ISF Gymnasiade
Bahrain will be the host of the next 2024 edition of the ISF Gymnasiade which will be a strong multisport after the Paris Olympic Games. The Bahrain Olympic Committee President His Majesty Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa attended at the Bahrain Universities and School Sports Federation’s first School Sports Forum.
Bahrain has never hosted any multisport event yet but the country has been preparing hard to arrange a remarkable competition. Their first Schools Sports Forum was held in the capital city of country and the BOC Secretary General Ms. Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji and several other officials joined the sessions.
More than 5000 students from at least 80 countries in 25 sports are expecting to take part in the ISF Gymnasiade which will take place in fourteen venues in Bahrain. The forum supported the promotion of the youth sport in Bahrain and underlined the main objectives. Bahrain is a developing boxing country in the Western Asian region and their sports life is still in progress.
The last 19th edition of the ISF Gymnasiade was held in Pont-Audemer, Normandy, France and the boxing tournament recognized new youth stars. Kazakhstan and Chinese Taipei were among the key nations of the boxing event in May 2022.
The head coach of the national boxing team, the famous former English boxer, Mr. Tony Davies arranged a strong preparation plan for the upcoming events. The country sent boxers to various international events to Lithuania, Finland, Uzbekistan and other countries as well. Their boxers are focusing to the Asian Games first which will be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23.
