Nine new winners in the Kyrgyzstan Youth National Championships
The Kyrgyz Youth National Championships was held in the Energetik Sportcomplex in Karakol where the new wave of the Central Asian country delivered great performance and surprises in the event. Karakol hosted the event which is located in the Issyk-Kul region and formerly known as Przhevalsk in the Soviet times.
Kyrgyzstan’s youth boxers were great in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan where the country bagged silver and bronze medals. Kyrgyzstan’s Aibek Akylbek Uulu was quarter-finalist in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships in St. Petersburg, Russia last November but he had to miss the Youth National Championships in Karakol.
Boxers who were born in 1999 and in 2000 were eligible to compete in the Kyrgyz Youth National Championships which are the new youth age groups in 2017. The Asian Boxing Confederation is planning to host its ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok, Thailand in July where most of the winners in Karakol could be there to show their skills in the international level.
National team member Rustam Muratov proved top performance in the recent youth competitions and claimed already medals in the international level as well. The 17-year-old light flyweight (49kg) boxer defeated Chui region’s Azat Niyazaliyev in the semi-final and stopped Aytbek Asan Uulu before the last gong in the final of the National Championships.
Astashenkov Junior Tournament bronze medallist Baydaly Erkinov delivered a surprise gold medal at the flyweight (52kg) where he was able to beat Izat Niyazaliyev by split decision who also trains in the Chui region as the 16-year-old eventual winner. The favourite of the weight class Aziret Kambarbekov claimed only bronze medal this time.
Bishkek’s Junior National Championships bronze medallist Rustam Yrysbek Uulu eliminated Issyk-Kul region’s experienced Anarbek Zhaparov in the quarter-final, strong Aybek Sultanbayev in the semi-final and AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Temirlan Nurlan Uulu in the final of the bantamweight (56kg) delivering a big surprise in Karakol.
AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships competitor Adilet Egemberdi Uulu has got a lot of experiences in the international level but his final opponent was Khodzhiakbar Adikhamov who is also well-known in the main events. Egemberdi Uulu used the best tactic against his final opponent and won the lightweight (60kg) in Karakol. AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Aknazar Zhyldyzbek Uulu and Children of Asia Games winner Ilgiz Matmusayev both lost their first preliminary contests in the weight class.
ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships bronze medallist 17-year-old Daniyar Omurbek Uulu had to do his very best to beat Osh region’s Bekzat Shairbek Uulu in the final of the light welterweight (64kg) but he was able to get his next title in Kyrgyzstan. AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships competitor Daniel Seidibaliyev and national team member Mayrambek Kaykiyev achieved the bronze medals.
The welterweight (69kg) also saw a top final fight between defending Youth National Champion Erzhan Yryskulov and Bishkek’s Cholponbek Saparbek Uulu. The final verdict was split decision in the favour of 16-year-old Yryskulov who claimed bronze in the Issyk-Kul Junior Cup a few months ago. In the absence of Aybek Akylbek Uulu the favourite, Issyk-Kul Junior Cup winner Dastan Zhumabek Uulu bagged the title at the middleweight (75kg) following his success over Bishkek’s Kalys Saiyrbek Uulu in Karakol.
Talas region’s ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships silver medallist Alisher Chatkalbekov dominated the light heavyweight (81kg) where he proved top style of boxing. The 17-year-old talent was too strong for Osh region’s Issyk-Kul Junior Cup winner Temirlan Sultanaliyev in the final and claimed his next title after the junior age group.
Syimyk Sydybakasov controlled his final fight against Bishkek’s Erlan Tagayev at the heavyweight (91kg) which was a spectacular bout in Karakol. Bishkek’s 16-year-old Akhmad Usupov launched powerful punches against Issyk-Kul region’s Amantur Mustapayev in the final of the super heavyweight (+91kg) and won that bout before the final bell.
